Beef Chiliin the Japanese kawaii style

Japanese sticker art, ingredients that smile

Kidney beans with faces, drawn as a small crowd rather than a heap, are the whole reason this page works. Ten stickers fill the cream panel to its limit, the chili powder and the cumin sit as two small closed shapes beside them, and the long simmer reads at the bottom in the same blue as the steps.

What this style does

Every ingredient is drawn like a Japanese sticker: a closed brown outline, a soft gradient from light to deep, two pink cheeks and a tiny face. The page is a grid notebook with a large cream panel laid on it, edges gently buckled, and the steps are numbered with orange, coral and blue markers.

Cream, coral, blue, orange and brick, five inks and not one more. A rounded Japanese gothic in capitals for the title, a running hand for the signature. The object it imitates is a sheet of Japanese stickers.
